Rights and permissions

The procedure and conditions for obtaining the right to reproduce an archival document from the Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier (MIJAB) in the context of a for-profit or non-profit project are presented below.

  • FOR-PROFIT PROJECTS Open or Close

To obtain the right to reproduce an archival document, you must fill out an Official request form to clearly identify the nature of your project as well as the desired materials.

Then, fill out the License of Rights and Conditions of Use form. This document stipulates the agreement’s terms, which must be respected to ensure that the requested rights to use the materials be granted. To this licence, you must append all texts, labels, scenarios, abstracts, or other elements using the Museum’s images in your project before its final distribution or publication. All documents must be submitted for Museum approval. Once the license has been completed, the payment has been received if applicable, and the texts have been approved, we will send you the final format of the material requested. The forms must be sent by mail, but to expedite the process, you may also send them by e-mail.

Any reproduction or use of these documents and information other than that stipulated in the initial request related to your project is strictly prohibited. The documents provided must be used solely in the context of your project. The following acknowledgement must be presented below each of the images reproduced: © Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier.

The appropriate credit must be indicated for each and every use of the material in the context of the project. Credit may also be given on a credits page or in a generic entry, depending on the circumstances.

A full copy of the project as it is published or broadcast must be submitted to the Museum for reference and conservation purposes. A PDF page related to the project will be accepted.
