As the sport increased in popularity, so did the need for a line of snowmobile clothing that could provide comfort, ease of use, safety, and protection against the elements. A specialized clothing industry soon joined the growing snowmobile industry.

Originally, each manufacturer chose a particular style and colour that matched its snowmobiles, such as the Bombardier yellow or Arctic Cat lime green.

Snowmobilers wore the outfits suggested by their snowmobile manufacturer, carrying their brand image. Included are examples of the evolution in clothing, demonstrating the industry's endless efforts to improve clothing and accessories while seeking diversity and originality.
